I really want to try one of these for the sheer ridiculousness of it. I’m just not sure I’d be able to even get on the thing. Plus, I don’t know anyone that actually owns one.

this guy makes it look easy. I would definitly want a helmet, pads and on grass the first time I try.

I was thinking one of the rubber surfaces like on some playgrounds. I think grass might actually make keeping momentum as you transfer positions harder.

Pads are a definite; helmet, wrist, elbows, knees. Heck maybe full motorcycle armor the first ride.

There’s been an annual penny farthing festival day in Evandale, Tasmania for decades. The racing is in the town streets which are lined with hay bales. The speed and cornering is amazing but the crashes are surprisingly rare.

It helps that they are not as hard to ride as they look...it's the mount and dismount technique that is key.

motorcycle armor is more for slide rather then impact :(
